$1 croissants up for grabs at this Sydney bakery for World Croissant Day

Calling all lovers of the famous buttery, flaky pastry that is the croissant, World Croissant Day is coming up on Thursday 30 January and artisanal bakery and café, Frenchs Fair is marking the occasion by selling traditional croissants for $1 on the day until sold out.

Made over three days using sustainably-grown stone-milled flour from Wholegrain Milling Co. and rich and creamy Corman butter sourced from France, the sensational sourdough croissants at Frenchs Fair Bakery & Café are well worth heading to Sydney’s Northern Beaches for.

While there, croissant connoisseurs can also enjoy other Frenchs Fair pastries (at regular prices) on display in their sleek marble cabinet, including their very popular almond chocolate croissant, delicious pain au chocolat, sour cherry and dark chocolate danish, and yuzu brûlée custard tart.

Frenchs Fair is run by former fine dining chef Max Bean (ex Est. and The Bridgeroom) and his seasoned hospitality wife Vicki, who draw on their extensive experience to produce a carousel of sensational baked goods, from 100% sourdough bread, creative cakes, house-made focaccia sandwiches and a slew of pastries.

Also on offer is a delicious cafe menu of fresh produce-packed breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, alongside Reuben Hills coffee and TikTok-worthy drinks like Strawberry Matcha Latte made with high-grade Uji matcha.

Frenchs Fair also runs weekly sandwich specials, daily pastry specials, and one-off creations for special occasions, like their limited edition Lamington Croissant available over the 2025 Australia Day long weekend, and filled with fresh cream and coated with smooth dark chocolate topped with shredded coconut and jam.

On 30 January, Frenchs Fair will be serving up their traditional croissants for $1 each, on a first come first serve basis, with a four per person limit, until sold out just for World Croissant Day.

Launched in April 2024, Frenchs Fair is located at 7 Skyline Place in Frenchs Forest, and is open Monday to Friday 7am-4pm and weekends 7am-3pm.
